high-end custom cabs, standard cabs, and interiors in both new construction and
elevator modernization projects. We also produce elevator cab components. We
work with elevator consultants, elevator contractors, architects, property
managers and building owners.

customers–the EPIC Solution. The EPIC Solution is a patent-pending pre-fabricated
cab interior designed to reduce installation time… even more than other leading
prefabricated interior products.

Our History and Background G and R Elevator is a trusted name in the elevator industry known for producing high-end custom cabs, standard cabs, and interiors in both new construction and elevator modernization projects. We also produce elevator cab components. We work with elevator consultants, elevator contractors, architects, property managers and building owners. MOD Proposals Preparation Specifications and / or drawings Elevator capacity with door type & finish Inside car dimensions with door opening size E-mail digital pictures when possible Brief description of existing interiors so that we may advice of any weight concerns Is survey required (yes or no) If no survey by G and R then; Wall panels Ceiling and light fixtures Handrail size and location Front description: swing or stationary COP’s, main and Aux along with material type and finish Are the original elevator layouts available? Survey Check List: Modernization Inside car dimensions Existing panels Existing suspended ceiling drop Car door thickness, width, height and type - Always note the above be it new construction or re-clad - For re-clad, look for special conditions Existing ventilation locations, height, width, intervals Strike pocket dimensions Transom notch dimensions for 2sp conditions Sill depth & width dimensions (even though new sills may not be required) For special conditions: - Take Photos - Note anything that may be difficult to measure accurately

Conditions appropriate for a New Cab Shell: NEW CONSTRUCTION New equipment Complex design, a lot of architectural lines Tight tolerance condition Poor shell condition Conditions appropriate for Existing Shell to Remain: MODERNIZATION Existing equipment Basic/simple design, few architectural lines Loose tolerance, wider reveals Good shell condition NEW CONSTRUCTION vs. EXISTING CONDITION Difficult to remove existing wall panels reveals, light troughs, corners, etc. Does not meet existing code requirements (for access, ventilation, lighting, ADA, etc.) In-experienced interior installation crew Easily removed wall panels and Reveal Conditions Meets current code needs (for access, ventilation, lighting, ADA, etc.) Capable & experienced crews

Existing coved ceiling/shell limit new ceiling options Existing escape hatch to small Existing cab shell is made of MDF type pressed board Modifying platform for a larger car Pros Meeting code requirements Necessary for cosmetic changes May be lower labor than to refurbish Add advertising screens/video New cab shells with new interiors for MOD projects - an elevator contractor’s point of view Moving the COP to the front in lieu of the side of the car Changing from manual doors to automatic Existing cab shell in such poor shape that the labor to refinish is more than replacement May increase cab weight, thus may need to resize elevator (pump/motor/drive) Hoisting systems needs PE sign off on new weight of elevator More cost than re-using existing shell Cons

Shell is in good shape No issues with size of escape hatch (may need to modify existing) Just looking for a change of interior design If required, no issues retro fitting new door Pros Nice new and fresh look Existing shells with retrofit new interiors of MOD projects Operator header to existing cab shell Cab weight not to exceed 5% of old elevator interior Cons May increase cab weight, thus may need to resize elevator (pump/motor/drive) Hoisting systems needs PE sign off on new weight of elevator May spend capitol that should go to elevator system upgrade

Conditions appropriate for Cab Fronts: NEW CONSTRUCTION Rough, dented & deep marred Face & corner conditions New swing fronts (difficult to re-clad, re-align, punch new holes Non re-finished condition New equipment Conditions appropriate for Existing Fronts: MODERNIZATION Smooth fronts, no dents and no over-clad Such as plastic laminate or “Belbien” When there is a stationary condition with COP cutouts only and easily re-finished Refinished condition Existing Equipment New Construction vs. Modernization Elevator cab fronts

Lead Times: NEW CONSTRUCTION When there is a longer overall project timeline Shorter downtime (ie: new doors vs. re-clad) Existing Lead Times: MODERNIZATION When there is a shorter overall project timeline (ie: interiors only) When there is plenty of available elevator downtime (ie: As an example, the existing doors to be re-clad, take the doors down and send to a manufacturing plant for change out) New Construction vs. Modernization LEAD TIMES:
