Most tools that scientists use for the preparation of scholarly manuscripts, such as Microsoft Word and LaTeX, function offline and do not account for the born-digital nature of research objects. Also, most authoring tools in use today are not designed for collaboration, and, as scientific collaborations grow in size, research transparency and the attribution of scholarly credit are at stake. In this talk, I will show how the Authorea platform allows scientists to collaboratively write rich data-driven manuscripts on the web–articles that would natively offer readers a dynamic, interactive experience with an article’s full text, images, data, and code–paving the road to increased data sharing, data reuse, research reproducibility, and Open Science.
Alberto Pepe is the co-founder of Authorea. He recently finished a Postdoctorate in Astrophysics at Harvard University. During his postdoctorate, Alberto was also a fellow of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society and the Institute for Quantitative Social Science. Alberto is the author of 30 publications in the fields of Information Science, Data Science, Computational Social Science, and Astrophysics. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of California, Los Angeles with a dissertation on scientific collaboration networks which was awarded with the Best Dissertation Award by the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). Prior to starting his Ph.D., Alberto worked in the Information Technology Department of CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland, where he worked on data repository software and also promoted Open Access among particle physicists. Alberto holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Astrophysics, both from University College London, U.K. Alberto was born and raised in the wine-making town of Manduria, in Puglia, Southern Italy.

In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

All the latest news from Gough and Kelly
CLOSEDCIRCUIT
I’d like to wish all of our customers
a very happy and prosperous New
Year, and to thank you for your
continued support over the last
12 months.
2015 was a busy year for us – our busiest
yet - with some fantastic achievements.
Winning and delivering contracts to keep
Rugby World Cup, Sky Ride and Tour de
Yorkshire spectators safe during these
high profile sporting events were
particular highlights, as was completing
the M&E contract for the new ten-storey
city centre car park for the University of
Leeds and successfully renewing our
University of Sheffield CCTV and access
control contract for another three years.
We were also very proud to achieve
Community Security Trust (CST)
accreditation in 2015, which has enabled
us to strengthen our work with the
Jewish community in the region. And we
were pleased to be part of the team
involved in upgrading town centre
security in Snaith, working in partnership
with the local and business
communities, town council and the
police force.
There are countless other projects, too –
too many to mention - and we’re very
proud of the team and all that they have
achieved.
2015 also saw the Gough and Kelly
group expand with two mergers - Haigh
Alarms and Adam Security – which have
extended our intruder alarm services.
We’re very happy to welcome new
customers to the business from both of
these companies, and we have included
an overview of our services in this
newsletter to show you how we may be
able to continue to support you.
On behalf of the Gough and Kelly team,
we look forward to working with you all
through 2016 and beyond.
All the best,
Stephen Kelly

Run, GK, run!
Our team of highly tuned
athletes raised over £2000 in
2015 for Age Concern and other
charities through a series of
charity runs.
The stunning parkland around
Harewood House was the location
for the first 2015 outing for the
Gough and Kelly running team in
March, for the Age UK 10k
Harewood Dash. 19-year-old
apprentice Callum Walker proved to
be the star of the show, finishing in a
very respectable 44 minutes. And
the Leeds 10k in July saw eight
members of the team lace up their
running shoes to raise money for
charity.
The team will be hitting the streets
again shortly to get in training for
their next outing at Harewood in
March, where they’ll be fundraising
for Macmillan Cancer Research.

Hitting the gym
Anyone who’s visited our offices will know that there’s more to them than
meets the eye. During 2015, we upgraded and expanded our on-site gym,
which is used by staff and also available to various community groups to
help keep a fit workforce and happy community.
Making a contribution to the communities we serve is very
important to us, and our team gets involved in all sorts of
activities to raise funds for causes and charities that are close
to their hearts. Here’s a roundup of some of our recent

WIN an iPad!
In recognition of the various
sporting events we’ve been involved
with recently, it seemed only fitting
to give our first competition of 2016
a sporting theme. So we’ve
resurrected the age-old sporting
favourite, ‘spot the ball’, and hidden
a football somewhere in the pages
of this newsletter.
Eagle eyed readers who spot it and
send their answer in to us by 29
February will go into a draw to win
an iPad.
Email enquiry@gough-kelly.co.uk to
tell us where it’s hidden and be in
with a chance of winning.
Good
luck!
Charity of the month
We now run a monthly draw where
staff nominate local charities/ groups
for a £100 cash donation. This
month, the £100 went to Leeds
Juniors U8s and will be used
towards new training wear for the
team. Let’s see who wins in
February…
We kick-started our community
defibrillator initiative in 2015,
which involves funding the
installation of Automated
External Defibrillators (AEDs)
in the local community.
The first step was installing a
defibrillator at our head office in
Bramley as a Community Public
Access Defibrillator, which is
available for members of the public
in the local area to use in an
emergency prior to arrival of the
emergency services. We have also
supplied another to Morley Rugby
Club for use in and around the club.
Our goal is to build on this initial
investment and roll the programme
out annually to support more local
organisations - sports grounds, in
particular. So if you know of any
local clubs or community groups
who could benefit, please do get in
touch.

Accreditations:
We work hard to create local
employment opportunities and
recruit from the local area as far as
possible. In 2015, we employed five
apprentices in our security
installation, electrical and office
teams and welcomed undergraduate
students from Yorkshire universities
for work placements with the
business, something we intend to
continue and develop through 2016.

help you?
We have established ourselves
as a premier provider of security

crime. We provide a range of internal and
external camera solutions to fit all

seamlessly integrated into security
lighting, access control, intruder and fire
alarms, and our Remote Monitoring
Centre offers 24-hour monitoring
Access control
Our access control systems provide the
most efficient and convenient way of
securing your building and assets.
Flexible enough to cater for all
requirements, our basic system can serve
between one and one hundred users,

accommodating several thousand users,
offering bespoke management for
individual sites and giving full control
over access times and personnel.
Working with:
Guarding
Whatever your requirements, our
security team can provide expertly
trained personnel, 24 hours a day, every

static security officers, mobile patrols and
key holding, which means you can be
confident that our processes, procedures
and service meet the highest standards.
Intruder alarms
Our security systems are designed and
graded to meet the requirements of
insurance companies and risk
assessments. We are an NSI (National
Security Inspectorate) Gold Approved
company, which means we are
recognised as a premier installer of
intruder alarm systems – a reflection of
our expertise and high quality standards.
We also install intruder alarms in line
with the BSEN50131, PD6662:2010 and
DD243:2004 European standards.
Fire alarms
From a simple, two-zone conventional
control panel to the most complex
interactive digitally addressable fire
detection systems, we install into a
variety of commercial environments.
Our expertise is supported by a network
of dedicated engineers and
complemented by our internal customer
service teams who are responsible for
progressing customer orders through to
equipment supply, installation,
commissioning and after-sales service.
Event security
We provide venue security, event

bringing a wide range of hardware and
software technologies together under a
single contract.
Rental options are available
on all of our systems,
giving you access to the
latest equipment at
affordable monthly rates, as
well as peace of mind that
there will be no repair bills
to budget for.
Key holding
We are an independent key holding and
alarm response specialist, providing a
highly effective, professional service
operating in accordance with BS7984.
We’ll provide immediate response
whenever an alarm is activated. We will
investigate, rectify and secure your
property as needed, and - in most cases
- this can all be done without having to
disturb you.
Preventative
maintenance
We offer maintenance for all the systems
we provide, offering both a standard and
a fully comprehensive option. All of our
clients have the added benefit of priority
response to get your system fully
functional again as quickly as possible.
Empty premises
guarding
Our void property alarms provide a simple, cost effective and hi-tech solution, giving
complete peace of mind. The alarms are quick and easy to install, with no wiring
required, and they don’t need a power supply or telephone connection to function.
We can provide a single camera setup through to multiple internal and external
camera locations, and can also incorporate smoke or flood detection.
Mechanical & electrical
contracting
We are experts in this specialist field,
working for both commercial and
industrial sectors providing surveys,
maintenance, installation and testing.
We strive to help clients work towards
carbon neutrality by using new and
innovative energy technologies. With
over ten years’ electrical experience, our
team has built a reputation for quality
workmanship and customer service, and
we strive to maintain these high
standards at all times.
