Girls on the Run Curriculum
The curriculum incorporates training for
a 5k with lessons that inspire third
through eigth grade girls to develop
essential life skills. The 10 week
curriculum is divided into three parts
that foster healthy growth in each of
these areas:
•Exploring what makes them unique
•Examining good decision-making skills
•Exploring responsibility to the
community
An emphasis is placed on independent
thinking, the importance of making
healthy choices, healthy group dynamics
and problem solving. The curriculum
rejects defeating others and stresses
peer support and doing one’s best.
12 weeks.
24 lessons.
350,000 girls
and counting.

Our Mission
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and
confident using a fun, experience-based
curriculum which creatively integrates
running.

Our Vision
We envision a world where every girl
knows and activates her limitless potential
and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

So what does Girls on the Run do?
One girl put it this way, “I learned that I
am the boss of my brain.” We inspire girls
to know and activate their limitless
potential and to boldly pursue their
dreams. No limits. No constraints. Only
opportunities to be remarkable.
