5. 2. Be patient with people and encourage them to get support in a group of fellow strugglers wanting to follow Christ. Be a friend to gay people even if you don’t have a support group available. It doesn’t have to be about being gay but about being human as God intended. Let them see that gay is not all they are, they have other needs that only God can meet through his community- meet what needs you can. GOT QUESTIONS? 6. 3. Straight men don’t need to be afraid of gay men. Friendship does more than anything else. One of the biggest confidence builders for me was being invited by guys at the church to play volleyball. I said I didn’t know how, and they offered to teach me, saying they’d love to have me on their team. That built my confidence as a man among men. GOT QUESTIONS?
