In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
2 Peter 3: Because some scriptures are hard to understand and some will force them to say things God never intended, Peter warns us to take care.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Editor's Notes
“not a social visit”: Note that Jesus doesn’t come to visit family and friends but to teach and to instruct his disciples. Maybe to show them from when He came to give them more background about Himself. Mark 6:2–3, ”2When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles!3Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Remember that these people only saw Jesus in the context of being Joseph’s son. An apprentice to his carpenter father. Jesus didn’t traffic in the high society of the rabbis during his growing up times. He would have been a blue collar kind of guy. Sometimes we have problems seeing people in their God-directed roles because we are hung up on their past or class gets in the way. Hicks: The Problem Of The Past. “Son of Mary”: suggests that Joseph is dead otherwise they would have referred to Joseph. Bros and Sistas: James was the oldest and one of the leaders in the early church (see Acts 12:17; 15:13; 21:18; 1 Cor 15:7; Gal 1:19; 2:9, 12) as well as the author of the epistle of James. Jude was the author of the epistle of Jude.
Offended: people who know you from a child sometimes have a hard time being under your authority (which Jesus was have had as a Rabbi). Mark 6:5, “He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.” Think about that. Phil 4:13 says we can do all things through Christ and yet this verse says that Jesus hands were tied. Miracles are not just and act of God but a response to our faith (recall how Jesus healed the paralytic in Mark 2 because of the faith He saw in the man’s friends). Do you need a miracle? Are you waiting for God to do all the work? You have a part in the process.
Shared the Lord’s message (Mark 6:12, “They went out and preached that people should repent.”, cf:Mark 1:15, “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”) Shared the Lord’s mercy: v. 7-they had the ability to heal and drive out demons. The same power that Jesus used to demonstrate that His message was authentic, He gave to His disciples to employ.
“simple dress”: Pharisees liked to dress for show“complete trust”: that the authority Jesus vested in them but they were still dependent upon God. Much like we are today. Indwelt with power of the Holy Spirit but we have to operate under the Spirit’s leading/guidance. “hospitality offered”: our ministry like the disciples is one for the willing. When sharing your faith, don’t get bent out of shape when some don’t receive you. Our job is to go. The Holy Spirit’s job is to do the drawing.
“John killed for speaking out against sinful conditions”: v 17-19. “John remained a righteous and holy man even when in prison”: it was for this reason that Herod didn’t kill John. In the end though, Herod folded when he should have stood up for what he believed. Because he didn’t want to loose face before his guests on his birthday, he gave in to the request of Herodias’ daughter.
“report” of the disciples . . . some time to “rest”Through the 12 we get a sense of how Jesus was able to accomplish more through others than He could do physically Himself being limited by the flesh. “solitary” place by “boat”: Boat seems to be the means of escape from large crowds.
