The Cast: Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan
The Story: Jill Conway is a young woman who lives with her sister Molly, a recovering alcoholic.
She also happens to be a woman who one year ago, was kidnapped and abandoned in a hole
deep inside a forest.
Experts
There, she finds other human remains, but is able to escape when the killer tries to finish her off.
Unfortunately for Jill, the police don't find the hole and don't buy the story as well because she had
been committed into a psychiatric institution for a few years before the incident.
When she comes back home one night only to find Molly gone without any reason, she has to get
to the bottom of this and possibly confront her past.

Movies
anticipate what's going to happen next. Unfortunately, ‘Gone’ isn't the thriller that'll make you do
that. If the synopsis sounded somewhat interesting to you, the actual movie bogs it down with
some of the most puzzling plot choices and illogical character decisions ever immortalized on
screen.

Review
The result? A psychological thriller that's the exact opposite of the word and completely lacking in
thrills. You know it's bad when the biggest scare in the entire film is a cat jumping out from a closet.

Amanda Seyfried, as talented as she is, has had her fair share of clunkers in her career and this is
definitely one of them. Even if she did try her darnest, she cannot possibly conquer some of the
most insipid writing that is the script for this movie. For much of the film, we see Seyfried running
about and panicking in a film that lacks the urgency that is standard requisite of a thriller. Even her
expression , the boredom – or the lack of any panic, fear, desperation or any emotion that has
anything to do with a thriller gives away that she herself probably knows how bad the material she
has to work with is. At 94 minutes, it's not the longest movie in the world on paper, but the
experience of having to sit through it certainly did feel like it.
To top it all off, the movie ends with a mind-numbingly stupid twist that takes whatever little that the
movie had going for it and throws it straight into the trash can. We won't be discussing the ending
in details, but take it from us... it's bad. There's very little in the movie worth recommending or
giving merit to in this film. Not even Seyfried looking deliciously pretty can be counted as a good
point if it means sitting through all of ‘Gone’. Lacking in almost every department imaginable,
‘Gone’ is truly a disaster all around. You'd be wise to skip it.
