as Head of Queensland Operations.
Ashley is based on the Gold Coast and will oversee operations in Queensland and Northern
New South Wales. One Small Planet has had a presence in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast
for the past eighteen months and now sees the opportunity for consolidating the Queensland
expansion.
“You can’t spend all day on Facebook and Twitter but my team can – and do," Ashley said. “A
business is only as good as its operator and if the operator is sitting on Facebook or Twitter all
day then the business has to be suffering."

In response to an article on Mumbrella “Coles in Facebook farmer backlash”, one of our One
Small Planet colleagues @GrahamLang wrote this week, “This is a classic mistake that a lot of
companies are making. They (Coles) fail to respect that it is real-time web and it needs
responding to in real time." The article highlighted the failure by Coles to respond in a timely
manner; responding on Monday morning to a Friday evening Facebook post by which time
the post had attracted over 73,000 ‘likes’ and 4,500 comments - not all of them favourable.
