This document provides information about gLOCAL Evaluation Week, a week in June 2019 dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences in monitoring and evaluation. The goals are to strengthen M&E capacity, foster accountability, and promote evidence-based decision making. During this week, over 100 institutions in 14 countries will host over 200 online and in-person events on topics related to M&E practices, capacities, and results. Organizations are encouraged to promote the event, organize sessions, and participate to support knowledge sharing and learning.
2. 2
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plays a critical role in
strengthening accountability and increasing transparency in
areas of public spending and service delivery.
In this context, sharing global and local M&E knowledge and
experiences are essential to strength local M&E capacity,
foster accountability for results, promote evidence-based
decision making, and learn from results.
These goals are central to the CLEAR Initiative’s mission and
the inspiration for gLOCAL Evaluation Week.
