- Using solar panels alone this house has already reduced 400 pounds in carbon emissions in just two months from November-January … in the Pacific Northwest; one of the least solar producing regions during this month. Using this as a conservative model, a net-zero home would conserve 2400 pounds per year. Just 0.1% of the homes in the nation following this model would reduce carbon emissions by over 130 thousand metric tons.
