The giant Buddha statue located east of Leshan City in Sichuan Province was carved between 713-803 AD at the confluence of the Min and Dadu Rivers. It took over 90 years to complete the massive statue.
India's Supreme Court has recognised transgender people as a third gender, in a landmark ruling that may offer gay people a glimmer of hope.
"It is the right of every human being to choose their gender," the court said in granting rights to those who identify themselves as neither male nor female.
The court ordered the government to provide transgender people with quotas in jobs and education in line with other minorities, as well as key amenities.

The city is situated in a very mountainous area about 750 meters (2,460 ft) above mean sea level. The Guadalevin River runs through the city, dividing it in two and carving out the steep, 100 plus meters deep El Tajo canyon upon which the city perches.
