2. INTRODUCTION
Ghana is located in west Africa, between Cote d’Ivoire and Togo. His
capital is Accra and the religion more practiced is Christianity.
The official language is English, but the most
dialects spoken are: Twi and Fante.
3. GREETINGS
With foreigners the most common greeting is the
handshake with a smile.
Between Ghanaians the common greeting is to
hold the right hand in the normal manner but then
twist and click each other’s middle fingers.
During meetings It is important to maintain a
polite and somewhat served demeanor.
During meetings , Ghanaians have a keen sense
of humor and like telling jokes.
4. TABLE MANNERS
To accept an invitation is a sign of friendship.
Dress well; Ghanaians place a lot of emphasis on how people dress.
Wash your hands before eat.
Do not begin eating until the eldest male does.
Better do not eat with your left hand.
If you do not want to eat with your hands then ask for utensils.
5. GIFT GIVING
Gift need not to be expensive.
If you’re invited to a dinner, you aren’t expected to bring a gift
However a gift to children is a nice touch that shows concern
to the family.
Gift should be given using the right hand or both; Never use
the left hand.
