The writer encountered an unusual animal while on holiday in Africa. The animal had features of a lion, monkey, rhinoceros, tortoise, and bird. It was eating a frog by a lily pond. The writer observed its hairy mane, warty face, large green eyes, furry ears and tail that smelled like sweaty socks. The animal howled like a monkey and salivated on the writer when approached. It purred when petted. The writer plans to bring the animal, named Kelly, home by disguising it in a dress to avoid detection at airport security.

The safari was quiet…my holiday was just right. Suddenly I heard a rustling in the long lime green grass. I crept over and I peeped though the grass.<br /> I saw the most marvellous thing. It was sitting next to a luscious light blue lily pond and was munching on a green slimy frog. The frog guts were splattering everywhere.<br />It had a bushy, bloody mane with gold and black streaks in it. Its face had lips with a wart as big as a bowling ball. Its eyes were a shade of fluoro green as wide as an apple and its ears were as furry as my dad’s back. They curved and were brown on the outside with yellow fur.<br />It had an enormous tortoise shell on it, as green as slime .It had eight miniature hairy back legs and its front legs were long and bony with brown spots the size of an elephant’s bottom. Its hooves were as tough as a sumo wrestler.<br />Its tail was my favourite part about the amazing animal. It had beautiful soft tail but boy did it stink! It smelt like a bunch of sweaty football player’s socks.<br />I walked closer. It froze. I was most terrified. It stood and walked over to me. I was too scared so then I froze. It stopped and sniffed my back pack, threw its head back and howled. It sounded like a monkey’s high pitched scream. It took a few steps back and poked out its pointy tongue and saliva flicked all over me I was soaking wet. I patted it on the head and it purred like a cat in front of a fire. It felt like a baby’s bottom, so smooth and soft. I decided to take it home. I named it Kelly. Scientists say it’s a lio-ho-mon-ringo-ab-torto-bird, but I stuck with Kelly.<br />I’m coming home soon and I’m taking Kelly with me. I’m just going to dress it up in a dress and hat and hope that security doesn’t notice.
