Benefits  High quality produce.  Allows other farms to be used for other purposes. ( saves space in Singapore)  Higher harvests and greater incomes.  Little negative impact on the environment:  Less fertilizers and pesticides used.  More land and water resources conserved.  Less fuel used because transporting is no longer needed.  Overproduction and wastage of resources minimized.
Challenges  Limited scope for development :  High cost of setting up Shortage of trained workers Competition from cheaper imports.
