A peice of land that sticks out into the water and is almost surrounded by it. (3 sides) It is much
larger than a cape
Delta-
An area of land that is formed by the soil and samd that collects at the mouths of some rivers.
Island-
A body of land completely surrounded by water.
Reservoir-
A human-made lake created to collect water.
Valley-

Glacier-
A large sheet of ice that mives slowlu over a wide area of land.
Mountain-
Raised land that is higher than a hill, usuallu with steep, rocky sides. A chain of connected
mountains is called a range.
Plateau-
A broad, mostly flat area of high land.
Volcano-an
opening in Earth’s crust through which lava, steam, and rock may errupt.
Canyon-a
deep narrow valley with steep sides. It often has a stream or a river flowing through it.
Dessert-
A large dry area of land that gets little precipitation and has little plant life.
Plain-
A broad, mostly flat area of low-lying land.
Cape-
A curved or pointed part of a coastline where the land sticks far out into the water. It is usually
smaller than a peninsula.

An archipelago is a group or chain of islands clustered together in a sea or ocean.
Atoll
An atoll is a ring (or partial ring) of coral that forms an island in an ocean or sea.

A canal is a man-made waterway used for transportation or irrigation.

A fjord is a long, narrow sea inlet that is bordered by steep cliffs.
