This document summarizes a study that analyzed the relationship between restaurant ratings on Yelp and social media reactions on Instagram. The researchers collected data on the top 30 highest rated restaurants from Yelp and their Instagram posts. They found a moderately positive statistically significant correlation between the two datasets. This suggests restaurants with more positive Yelp reviews tend to have more Instagram likes and posts. Limitations included the sampling of Instagram data and the dynamic nature of social media data.
