A gender role is a set of societal norms dictating
what types of behaviors are generally considered
acceptable, appropriate or desirable for a person
based on their actual or perceived sex.
Statistics
1979- women earned about 62 percent as much as men
2009-24 percent of CEO’s in the US were women and they earned 74.5 percent as much as
male CEOs
2010-American women on average earned 81 percent of what their male counterparts earned
2015-24.7 percent of women worked full-time compared to 45 percent of men
