OSTRICH OER Project
The OSTRICH project at the University of Bath aims to promote the creation, release and reuse of Open Educational Resources (OERs). The project looks to cascade an OER model and adapt it to the University of Bath context, while also evaluating its sustainability. As part of the project, central staff and student support resources as well as some units of study content and lecture recordings will be released as OERs. The project also explores legal and intellectual property issues regarding OER creation at the university and provides advice and support for OER creators and users.

The CoReflect project aimed to develop innovative, inquiry-based learning environments to stimulate students' interest in physical and environmental science topics related to modern socio-scientific issues. It created seven web-based learning environments hosted on the STOCHASMOS platform to scaffold students' data-rich inquiry and evidence-based decision making on socio-scientific dilemmas. These environments have been tested in classrooms across Europe and are available for free online with teacher guides in multiple languages.

The University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service ( IPS) created the Tennessee Renewable Energy & Economic Development Council (TREEDC) in 2008 to help connect renewable energy initiatives with economic development opportunities for communities . TREEDC started with 4 rural cities scattered across the state. TREEDC has grown into an international organization with 96 mayors and 30 Universities that collaborate together to create a path to fast track renewable energy worldwide. The TREEDC International Exchange Program expands the scope of TREEDC’s mission of connecting renewable energy with economic development.
The International Exchange Program was created in 2012 to help cultivate technology and informational exchange among TREEDC’s members with international counterparts. The major objectives are information and technology exchange between sister cities and colleges, showcase Tennessee technology providers , promote social responsibility, and to replicate the TREEDC model worldwide. Five (5) countries were selected and the Philippines was chosen as the Pilot Country for Tennessee to connect to the rest of the world in advancing renewable energy. Today, there are 8 Philippine cities and 12 universities that have enrolled into the Program. This initiative has produced 5 educational forums across the country, provided typhoon relief assistance and has facilitated solar development, waste to energy and pico-hydro development in the rural areas of the country. The University has generated more positive recognition worldwide as an innovator in outreach and Tennessee renewable energy businesses have secured new customers in the Philippines. This has become a win-win for all parties involved.Presentation(T&Y&G)
This document summarizes a project located in Geziret, Egypt that aims to facilitate the expansion of the informal area in a more resilient manner through a temporary intervention site. The intervention seeks to shift youth to skilled labor, expand youth programs, and perpetuate sustainable building techniques. Specifically, it aims to allow safer expansion, continue green infrastructure, develop design guidelines for future buildings, and create physical foundations to support informal construction. Initiatives include creating greenroofs, greenwalls, youth programs, solar power, and using woodchip composite mixes. The overall vision is to develop a safe, sanitary environment where formal and informal settlements can benefit from workshops on health, youth, and guidelines to guide sustainable expansion.

The purpose of the workshop was to bring together leading UK researchers to discuss emerging technologies for the sustainable production and use of energy in rural communities in developing countries, and to take a ‘look ahead’ at scientific developments and technologies that might be influential over the next 10 - 20 years. It was held under the auspices of the ‘smart villages’ initiative, a three - year project to advance sustain able energy provision for development in off - grid villages in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
