It encourages questioning the current status and addressing areas that cannot easily be made circular. Ecodesign tools and guidance help take a preventative rather than reactionary approach. Case studies demonstrate how ecodesign can create more circular products and services through creativity in life cycle thinking.

Residents traditionally engaged in fishing and agriculture but many homes are now threatened by the sea, with flooding occurring frequently during heavy rains and storms. The village population participates in organizations like Kudumbashree and relies on institutions like schools, banks, and places of worship from various faiths within the community.
Boats man of Bengal
This document summarizes a study on the socioeconomic conditions of boatsmen in Rishra ferry ghat in West Bengal, India. Ganga Sagar Mela
Ganga Sagar Mela is a large religious fair held annually on Sagar Island in West Bengal where the Ganges River meets the Bay of Bengal. Over 300,000 pilgrims attended in 2007 to take a holy dip, believing it cleanses sins. The mela brings economic benefits to the local people who work and sell goods, but also causes some problems like pollution, crime, and cultural changes in the local communities. The government works to provide infrastructure, security, medical services and communication for the large number of visitors during the mela.

Andaman and nicobar island
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a union territory of India located in the Bay of Bengal. The islands comprise two main island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 10th parallel north. Several indigenous tribes live in the islands, including the Jarawa tribe which numbers around 365 people. The Jarawa traditionally lived a nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle but their way of life has been threatened by the building of roads through their forest land and pressure from settlers and poachers. Conservation groups are calling for protections of the Jarawa tribe and their lands to prevent further endangerment of their culture and society.

This document summarizes a study on gendered vulnerability in flood plains in West Champaran, Bihar, India. Indawgyi Lake. Indawgyi Lake, located in the Kachin State of Myanmar, is one of the largest inland lakes in Southeast Asia. The lake measures 13 kilometers east to west, and 24 kilometers north to south. There are over 20 villages around the lake. The predominant ethnic groups living around the lake are the Shan and the Kachin, who mainly practice agriculture. Half of the site is covered by mixed deciduous forest and 30% is wetland. Evergreen forest (riverine), mixed deciduous forest (bamboo), and hill forest (pine forest), are other forest types of the site. At least 165 types of trees and medicinal plants, 38 mammals, 448 birds, 41 reptiles, 34 amphibians, and 50 butterflies are present in the site. The area is an International Bird Area with some 10 threatened bird species, including the critically endangered white-rumped vulture and the nearly threatened hooded treepie, endemic to Myanmar.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a union territory of India located in the Bay of Bengal. The islands comprise two main island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 10th parallel north. Several indigenous tribes live in the islands, including the Jarawa tribe which numbers around 365 people. The Jarawa traditionally lived a nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle but their way of life has been threatened by the building of roads through their forest land and pressure from settlers and poachers. Conservation groups are calling for protections of the Jarawa tribe and their lands to prevent further endangerment of their culture and society.

Indawgyi Lake. Indawgyi Lake, located in the Kachin State of Myanmar, is one of the largest inland lakes in Southeast Asia. The lake measures 13 kilometers east to west, and 24 kilometers north to south. There are over 20 villages around the lake. The predominant ethnic groups living around the lake are the Shan and the Kachin, who mainly practice agriculture. Half of the site is covered by mixed deciduous forest and 30% is wetland. Evergreen forest (riverine), mixed deciduous forest (bamboo), and hill forest (pine forest), are other forest types of the site. At least 165 types of trees and medicinal plants, 38 mammals, 448 birds, 41 reptiles, 34 amphibians, and 50 butterflies are present in the site. The area is an International Bird Area with some 10 threatened bird species, including the critically endangered white-rumped vulture and the nearly threatened hooded treepie, endemic to Myanmar.
