When we swim, our hands, arms, feet and legs push against the water. This
is what makes our bodies move through the water.

forward, backward or sideways.

  • #20 Look at pictures 1 and 2. Is it easier to push or pull the sled? Why? Read the question aloud and allow students to discuss freely. Accept all logical answers. (Note: It takes the same amount of force to push or pull the same object in the same circumstances. In the instances pictured, it might be easier to pull the sled.)
