Allira Searle, a former student of Glen Innes High School, will travel over 7,000 km with an indigenous youth leadership program to Antarctica. The program, led by adventurer Peter Bland, will see five indigenous youth and mentors make the journey from Australia to Antarctica in December. They will fly to South America and take a ship to Antarctica, where they will spend a week hiking, climbing glaciers, and camping across the continent. Allira has been training and preparing for the physical challenge. She hopes this trip of a lifetime will help promote the youth leadership program.
