Wood Screen Door Product Overview Pricing options
At G & S Woodworking our standard wood screen doors are manufactured from kiln dried white pine with oak
as an option as well on most styles of our door. All doors come unfinished & untreated for your convenience
allowing customers to finish as they please and is the customers responsibility to finish coat. Doors come in ei-
ther slid style (stain grade) with little to no knots no larger than 1 inch in diameter or finger jointed style which
allows for less chances of warping and is considered paint grade material but also stainable although joined ar-
eas can still be seen through stains and varnishes. All finger jointing is done with a waterproof watertight glue
to prevent pieces from pulling or falling apart over time. All doors are mortise and hidden tenon and stapled
on the inside with maximum numbers of staples to prevent falling apart.
All wide style doors come standard with a 7 inch solid bottom rail and removable screen inserts screwed flush
to inside in mill finish and come with charcoal fiberglass screen but can be done in charcoal aluminum wire
mesh as an add on option. Other colors of screen channel available in beige, white and bronze at additional
cost. All removable panel doors are interchangeable and can be converted to storm doors as well with remov-
able 1/8” clear tempered glass panels as an additional option.
Standard door sizes include 2’-6”, 2”-8” and 3”-0” with a height of 6”-9” (81”) allowing for sizing and a
thickness of 1-1/16”. Thicker sizes available upon request and must call in for a quote.We also manufacture
older style combination doors for older homes or historical, with removable wood storm and screen insert,
raised wood panel, flat panel, round top, arch top and odd width and heights. Typically the stiles and top rail
are 4 1/2” and the bottom rail anywhere from 4 1/2” and bigger.
Minimum order quantity for free shipping included (applies to distributors only) is 50 door minimum
mix or match door styles less than 50 distributor pays shipping.
Retail we do ship 1 or more items; shipping is added to the cost of product which varies from state to state
and size of package. All orders shipped freight out of state, smaller quantities of less than 5 items can some-
times ship UPS or Fed X. Average cost to ship around $100-150.00 for single items, pallets generally $400-
700.00.
All doors come raw unfinished. Manufacture recommends a UV paint or UV varnish for pre-finishing to resist
mold and rot for longer duration. Suggested Min wax, Kilz or other mold & mildew resistant finish.
All prices listed are retail price, vendors and dealers please request separate multiplier
pricing sheet.

These combos are made to resemble original storm/screens, some parts are discontinued or altered & manu-
facturer has substituted or redesigned the style to function as we see fit to attain proper function.
We can make wider stiles and rails as they may warp in or outward due to oversize. The rails are 1.25 x 1.125
and the taller they are, some warping can occur. Manufacture defects on warping only include outward to-
wards outside, left and right OK once installed. Additional clips or screws may be required to fasten window
into place. Inserts are made 1/8” smaller than opening to allow for easy sliding. These are not air tight storms.
Triple slider cost figured by the size of flanker as a standard slider, then double the price.
Ex: 85”x 53.125 wide triple, flanker is 20” x 48” glass center is 40”x48”

How To Measure
Squareness - Measure corner to corner diagonally.
Proper sizing - Always give 1st Width x height jamb to
jamb, head to sashes longest point for beveled sills.
Specify RO for rough opening or tight/exact .
For RO we always allow some give.
This how- to pertains to most applications including doors.
If giving the R.O, we will downsize by at least 1/8”.
For exact sizing please specify on order.
When ordering whole units measure stud to stud for RO.
Specify nailing fin, or size of outer casing, give dimension
brick to brick and top brick to sub sill and width of outer
casing, 2” is standard but always give unit RO and jamb
size: wall width from where siding attaches to drywall.
Door measurements will be similar to windows:
Door slab: measure old door minus 1/2” from bottom for
sill seal, allow 1/4” for width.
Door frame: remove trim and allow 1/2” to 1” for width &
height, top of frame to bottom of sill plate & jab to jamb
for frame size
How to measure for different types of windows.
• 1 - When measuring for a wood combination storm/screen- measure
inside brick mold to brick mold width RO or Brick size, and longest point
of bevel - refer to Blue arrow 1. RO we allow - 1/8” both ways unless
otherwise specified.
• 2 - When measuring for an Aluminum combination/ storm screen
width x height brick to brick and long point is to the shortest side of
storm opening - arrow 2. We allow 1/8” for width, nothing for height
with the expander on bottom which adjusts and allows 1/4” to 1/2”
tolerance.
• 3 - When measuring for replacement sash kits, measure jamb to jamb
width inside of header top where parting stop is to sill longest part of
bevel for inner sash - arrow 3. For old style check rail we downsize width
by 1/8”.
• 4 - For vinyl sash units, measure jamb to jamb width, header top to
highest inner part of sill. Vinyl units are made 1/2” smaller both ways to
allow for fit and squaring up of unit.

WARRANTIES
Manufacture warranties all products from defects in workmanship and assumes no responsibility for
customers failure to follow instructions. All wood products need to be finished within 30 days to prevent rot
and deterioration. Manufacturer assumes no responsibility for rotting or warping on unfinished products.
None of our products are treated and may or may not last depending on conditions such as: gutters on house,
amount of overhang, trees or shrubs along house, amount of sun exposure, proper installation of products,
types of finishes used, wood treatments. Glass warranties and guides per our distributors guidelines for any
defects, any IG glass under warranty will be sent to customer free of charge, installation & labor not included,
this is the customers responsibility. Single strength glass not warrantied, LowE SS glass no warranty as LowE
is exposed, warranty only pertains to IG units. Any shipments received damaged must be refused or verified
within 30 days, after which manufacture takes no responsibility for any damages not reported immediately or
within 30 day period.
Exposed LowE glass is to be cleaned with a soft cloth or micro fiber cloth to prevent scratching. All exposed
LowE is hard-coat which is less likely to scratch than soft coat but still no guarantee.
Primer used is 123 Zinsser which is latex and contains a mold resistant formula but products still need to be
finish coated.
Mfg recommends Minwax UV varnish for clear coating to resist mold, mildew and fading.
