Bangladesh faces many challenges that weaken its infrastructure and economic development including a poor technical base, inadequate research and trained workforce, brain drain, lack of infrastructure, very poor project planning, low per capita income, weak governance, inefficient banking and weak capital markets. Additionally, most of the population lives in poverty, literacy and civic sense are low, income is unequally distributed, physical and financial resources are inadequate, the service sector contribution is low, the trade deficit is large and agricultural and industrial growth is imbalanced. Addressing these longstanding weaknesses through improved governance, education, infrastructure development, healthcare and balanced economic policies will be crucial for Bangladesh to strengthen its development prospects.

This document provides a summary of the final outcome evaluation of the Enhancement of Living Standards in Fergana Valley project conducted by Fuat Andic, Ph.D. for UNDP Uzbekistan. The evaluation assessed the project's design, relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, resource mobilization, ownership, and lessons learned. Key findings include that the project was relevant and efficiently administered, though capacity building of local governments was only partially effective. Sustainability of improved public services and access to rural development is high, while sustainability of local authorities' capacity is low. Recommendations focus on longer-term training for local officials and preparing project trainees to train others.

Colm McClements - How can more effective project identification, prioritizati...GIZ Moldova
Regional development projects require effective identification, prioritization, and preparation. Three key factors are identified.
First, regional development strategies and plans need to identify projects early to ensure focus and efficient use of resources. Some resistance exists to identifying projects early, but deferring identification has negative consequences.
Second, an effective approach uses a "smart" form of regional planning that rapidly identifies feasible programs and projects through a disciplined multi-stage project pathway and pipeline management process.
Third, developing a large project pipeline requires certain conditions and capacities, including good programming that leads to project identification, programming and development expertise, management and monitoring competencies, and engagement of regional actors as facilitators working closely with project implementers.
How community driven are cdd projects in myanmar report (eng)DEMIAL
The National Community Driven Development Project (NCDDP) in Myanmar aims to empower local communities through community-driven development. However, IFI Watch Myanmar has monitored the project since 2012 and identified several weaknesses in its implementation that risk undermining its goals. These include insufficient training of local managers, lack of community participation, corruption, and failure to ensure transparency. IFI Watch is concerned that rapidly scaling up the project without addressing these issues could exacerbate problems like elite capture and corruption. They urge the World Bank to take steps like allowing more time for capacity building before expansion.

Understanding terminal objectives, technical competence, and stakeholders are important for driving social projects effectively.
Brian Moyo presented on strategies for ICT policy review in Zimbabwe. He has experience in telecoms, renewable energy, and infrastructure. He proposed using a business model canvas to review projects. The key problem is a lack of connectivity and services in rural areas. His solution was a holistic approach combining technologies like VSAT satellites, solar power, and radio networks to connect schools and clinics across provinces. This would provide internet access, e-learning, and telemedicine. Barriers like poor infrastructure could be overcome through innovative solutions. The way forward is to drive unified service delivery in education through consistent programs and technology.

However, barriers to fully realizing the benefits of LPS in the Indian construction context were also identified.
This document summarizes a research paper that develops a framework for measuring the success of rural infrastructure development projects in Vietnam. Through a literature review and survey of over 300 project stakeholders, the research identified three key dimensions of rural infrastructure project success: 1) meeting the needs of users, 2) satisfying project funders, and 3) having positive impacts on the local community in the long term. An exploratory factor analysis was used to group survey responses into these three dimensions. The proposed framework provides a holistic approach to evaluating both the short-term and long-term success of rural infrastructure development projects in Vietnam.

4. RESEARCH
BACKGROUN
D
• Due to the country's rising productivity, Malaysia's construction business is
expanding quickly and becoming more difficult. As part of Malaysia’s aim
to become a developed country by 2050, a wide range of mega
infrastructures and development plans have been put forward by the
government. Complex projects are at a higher risk of delays and cost
overruns (Waldron, 2006).
• Malaysia's government has been successful in fulfilling rising infrastructure
needs. The government has also made significant headway in providing
infrastructure in the country's less developed areas. Infrastructure
development requires a large expenses. In every Malaysia Plan, the
infrastructure sector has gotten the greatest proportion of public sector
development spending.
• Inspite of the achievements obtained in the construction of infrastructure,
there are numerous areas where policy design and execution may be
improved. One area where the government must intervene is in the
preparation of medium-term plans for all areas of the infrastructure
industry. Such planning will help in the avoidance of unplanned project
selection (Naidu, 2008).
5. PROBLEMSTATEMENT
The first issue is the issue related to a lack of resources or
inadequacy in industrial infrastructure (especially supply sources).
The second issue is issues related to customers and consultants, and
issues related to the inefficiency or inadequacy of contractors.
The third issue is the distribution of funds for public infrastructure
projects, which is one of the biggest problems faced by
governments.
6. OBJECTIVES
• To determine the causes of underwhelming
performance in public infrastructure
projects in Penang.
• To rank the solutions associated to the
challenges in managing public infrastructure
projects in Penang.
7. RESEARCH
QUESTION
What is the causes of
underwhelming
performance in public
infrastructure
projects in Penang ?
What are the solutions
related to the challenges in
managing public
infrastructure projects in
Penang ?
8. HYPOTHESIS
• The better the management in managing the public infrastructure, the
less the challenge for the government to improve the public infrastructure
of our country.
• The more observations and studies we do on how poorly public
infrastructure is managed, the more likely it is that we will figure out why
it doesn't work well and come up with smart ways to fix the problem.
9. SCOPE OF RESEARCH

10. SIGNIFICANC
E OF
RESEARCH
Academic
Learned the factors that lead to poor
performancein Malaysia’spublicinfrastructure
projects.
Individual
To create awareness among stakeholders and the
government about how this difficulty might hinder
Malaysia's challenges in managing public
infrastructure.
Industry
To prevent the waste of materials and to
significantly develop Malaysia's industrial sector.
Country
Lead to positive economic growth for the country.
20. METHODOLOGY : TEST INVOLVED
PILOT STUDY
• A smaller study and
the initial step in a
research process, helps
to plan and adjust the
primary study (Arnold
et al., 2009; In, 2017).
The validity and
reliability of the
information must be
verified
REALIBILITY TEST
• Following the completion of
the pilot research
questionnaire, a reliability
test will be conducted
• The goal is to determine
wether all of the
questionnaire’s question are
valid for measurement in
this study
VALIDITY
• The validity of the
questionnaire will
be demonstrated
by conducting a
test to evaluate if
the items should
be measured or
not.
• The Exploratory
Factor Analysis
(EFA) in SPSS
may be used to
evaluate the
validity of
questionnaire
