2. Visions of the Academy
• “At Capital Learning Academy our vision is to create a
multi-disciplinary coaching and development programme
dedicated wholly to football, education, and welfare to
increase the potential of every individual player on and
off the pitch. We want to create an environment that
allows all players to inevitably move on to a professional
club and develop essential life skills.”
4. The philosophy at Capital Learning Academy is to create
an environment that allows the greatest opportunity for
player/person development. Our aim is to develop players
that play the game in the future.
This means having a good first touch, being aware of
movement of self and others and knowing when and where
to distribute the ball before receiving possession of the
ball. This also means develop good attitude, strong
character and mental toughness.
Playing the game in the future.
5. What do we look for?
At the club we look for and aim to develop players with:
• Vision and Awareness
(Good Movement, decisions on & off the ball, reading passes)
• Strong Character and mental toughness
(Wants the ball, good attitude to the game, desire to learn and inevitably
win/succeed, enjoys playing and training)
• Tactical awareness
(Game understanding)
• Natural ability and good technique
(Shows superior control/touch/passing ability/ shows good dribbling skills,
and is comfortable in 1V1)
• Courage and bravery
Leads the team, shows determination, does not know when he’s beaten.
• Athletic competence
Shows pace with/without the ball, ability to move, jump and change direction
• Receptive to coaching
6. What do we expect?
• At our club we expect players to show a good standard
and experience of football. Although our main priority is
that a player is receptive to coaching. A player must
show a willingness to learn, understanding of
coaching/learning objectives & targets as well as an
embracing of the learning environment.
7. The four corner model
All coaches are expected to create an environment that maximises
development potential, therefore it is important that we understand
the four corner model and all factors needed to be understood in
the development process.
8. Academy cost’s
At the academy so far things have been free!
Training once a week at a quality 3rd generation artificial pitch,
match kit, games on Saturday and coaching hours from staff as
well as use of training equipment.
At the academy we will be aiming to add more training sessions
to the weekly programme and provide players with training kit to
allow them to display more commitment and feel part of a team
and due to this there may be a small charge for the season
although we aim for this to be significantly lower than most clubs
in the area.
Being very transparent this will be between the
£30 - £50 (TBC) mark which can be paid in
installments if required.
9. Training Hour’s
At the current time we train one night a week for two hours.
To allow for greater development will be aiming to increase this
by a further 2-4 hours a week.
This is to aim to be closer to that of academy football clubs who
currently train at the same age group up to 9.5 hours weekly.
Can all participants please come to training appropriately
dressed in accordance with weather conditions.

Thanks to them we have been able to provide the players
with everything they need so far to succeed. We hope with
their help next season we will be able to have more teams

12. Charitable Donations
The club currently makes some donations to charitable
causes and are always seeking reputable charities to
donate to, especially those working with vulnerable young
people.
At the moment the club donates monthly to the Bridge AP
Academy (Part of TBAP, Tri Borough Alternative Provision
Foundation). This is a school in West London that provides
alternative education for young people excluded from
mainstream secondary schools. (As seen on BBC 3 –
