FTI Consulting has expanded its business transformation practice in South Africa by hiring Erasmus Theron and Lenore Oosthuizen to lead its customs, excise, and global trade capability. Theron has over 18 years experience and Oosthuizen has 8 years experience in consulting and legal practice related to customs and excise. They will provide expertise in customs tariff classifications, customs disputes, customs and excise policy, and utilizing trade agreements to support FTI's offerings in business strategy, transformation, supply chain, and project management.

We are delighted to welcome Erasmus Theron and Lenore Oosthuizen to FTI
Consulting to lead the Customs, Excise and Global Trade capability within our new
Business Transformation services, as Managing Director and Director respectively.
Erasmus Theron has more than 18 years and Lenore Oosthuizen 8 years' experience at
the big 4 consulting firms and legal practice. Together they will bring their considerable
expertise in Customs and Excise consulting and dispute advisory services, to support
offerings within business strategy and transformation, including operating models &
support processes, supply chain & procurement, benefits analysis & model building, and
project management.
Erasmus is an admitted attorney and previously led the EY South African Customs and
Global Trade Practice. He has considerable experience in industries impacted by customs
and excise legislation, both locally and within Africa ranging from alcoholic beverages,
tobacco, petroleum, clothing and textiles, retail and fast-moving consumer goods. He
managed various Pan African landed cost modelling projects and assisted clients with
streamlining and the development of various customs and excise related risk control
frameworks to manage duty at source and excise/levy compliance for tobacco, spirits,
wine, sugar sweetened beverages and petroleum products.
Lenore is an admitted attorney with experience in various landed cost modelling projects
both locally and within Africa. She specialises in customs tariff classifications and
customs dispute advisory services, customs and excise policy assistance and the
utilisation of free trade agreements and customs duty saving mechanisms.
