5. Our model: Jesus as friend
Jesus gave everything to his friends—his knowledge of God and
his own life. Jesus is our model for friendship— because he
loved without limits—and he makes it possible for us to live a
life of friendship. We have been transformed by everything he
shared with us. You are my friends if you do what I command
you.

7. Amid one’s daily duties
We will recognize Christ in our neighbour if drew close to her in
her daily activity, if we allow ourselves to be moved by her
needs, even when it requires changing our own plans.
The Good Samaritan sets off again because he still had other
duties he could not neglect.
Nothing should be an excuse!
8. Apostolate of friendship and trust
Apostolate refers to every activity of the mystical body that
aims to spread the kingdom of Christ over all the earth. All
members of the church share in this mission, though in
various ways; CCC 863
Apostolate should not be seen as an extra effort on the part of
a Christian but it should be a way of life.
9. Our apostolic zeal is an over flow of my
personal sanctity; an over flow of my
interior life.
A close union with God keeps the
apostolic desire alive. John 15:5- I am
the Vine and you are the branches, he
who abides in me and I in him, will bear
much fruit.
10. Ways to foster friendship
Always look for a common ground: The Way pt973
Those well-timed words, whispered into the ear of your wavering friend;the
helpful conversation that you managed to start at the right moment; the
ready professional advice that improves his university work; the discreet
indiscretion by which you open up unexpected horizons for his zeal. This all
forms part of the 'apostolate offriendship.'
11. Interest in spiritual and temporal affairs:
Mary & Martha (Priestly soul and lay
mentality)
Encouragement by word and example;
working well
Advice in personal matters; professional
advice
Topical issues: contraception, abortion,
home management, fashion etc
13. Conclusion
It is a duty for all Christians by virtue of our
baptism and confirmation to spread the divine
message of salvation to all men throughout the
earth
14. Let us ask our lady, Queen of
Apostles to intercede for us so that
our apostolic zeal will keep
burning. That way, we become co-
redeemers with Christ; lighting up
the hearts of our friends,
colleagues and neighbours.
