Fourth sunday of advent
1. FOURTHSUNDAY OF ADVENT (18 -12-2016)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Bible Quest 17 will be held today/tomorrow after the 9.30 am mass. Participants please
occupy 3 classrooms like last month. Further details have been already circulated in the
parish WhatsApp group.
2. There will be a meeting of the Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist today/tomorrow
after the 9.30 am mass in the activity room.
3. PYC meeting will be held tomorrow/ today after the 9.30 am mass. Those youth who
would like to volunteer for Talent Dhamaka and Parish Fete are invited to attend this
meeting.
4. The Eco kids groups who could not take up the December project area cleaning drive
last Sunday, can have it today/tomorrow. The January Eco kids project will be a parish level
drawing contest along with Christmas and New year celebration. This will be held on
8th January, 2nd Sunday, in our church AV hall, in the place of monthly scheduled meeting at
the community level. Further details will be announced later.
5. Legion of Mary members will be coming to your communities for Carol singing on
tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, 19 and 20th to spread the message of Christmas joy
amongst the people of all faiths.
6. The Christmas confessions will be held on coming Thursday and Friday, 22nd and
23rd December from 5 to 8.30 pm.
7. Christmas mass schedule will be like last year. Christmas vigil mass will begin with
Carol singing at 10.30 pm followed by Christmas feast mass at 11. On 25th Christmas day,
morning there will be masses as per Sunday schedule – 7 am Konkani, 8.30 in English. No
evening mass on Christmas day. There is a slight change – Due to some unavoidable
reasons, Bishop Agnelo Gracias will celebrate the New Year midnight mass, not Christmas
mass as announced last Sunday.
8. Communities can bring in their stars to be put up in the church latest by Wednesday
21st December.
9. Parents of the First Holy Communicants who wish to be part of the common
celebrations must inform Fr. Henry latest by 1st January 2016. No requests after this date
will be accepted.
10. A suggestion box has been kept on the altar for the Parish Feast celebrations. Please
drop-in your ideas in the same before 30th December 2016.
11. The DYC is organizing Diocesan Youth Singing Competition on 8th January 2017. The
poster for the same is put up on the notice board. All youth who would like to form a choir
and participate must contact Fr. Henry as soon as possible. Passes for the same are priced
at Rs 100/-
12. The Laity training centre has come out with a ‘Life enhancing and relationships’
programme which will begin from next January. This course is open to members of all
faiths. See the poster on the notice board or collect a handout from parish office.
13. There will be a Konkani drama on 8th January at Sacred Heart church grounds. See the
banner at the church compound for further details.
14. Advent ‘campaign against hunger and decease’ envelopes are available near the
entrance gate. You may drop them in the community fund box or box near the altar or
handover in the parish office.
2. 15. (only Saturday)Talent Dhamaka 2016: The finals of the T-shirt designing competition
will be held tomorrow/today in the A V Hall after the 8.15 am mass.
16. Priests/sisters team parish visitation is almost over except SCCs 8 and 9. The date of
visitation to these 2 communities will continue in the month of January.
