The Battle of Fort Wagner was a Confederate
  victory during the American Civil War (1861-
  1865). The battle took place in July 1863 at Fort
  Wagner on Morris Island, South Carolina. The
  fort protected the harbor of the city of
  Charleston. The battle became famous for the
  heroic efforts of an all-black Union regiment.
  The regiment's bravery helped win acceptance
  for African American soldiers fighting for the
  Union.
The location was at Morris isle. And the city of
  Charleston. USA / South Carolina / Sullivan's
  Island / Charleston, South Carolina.
Result although a tactical defeat, the battle of Fort
  Wagner saw action for black troops in the Civil
  War, and it spurred additional recruitment that
  gave the Union army a further numerical
  advantage in troops over the South.
