Formal Dress Code
GENTLEMEN
• Attire is to be formal.
• Guys should wear a tuxedo or
a dress suit with shoes.
• Top hats and canes are NOT
allowed.
LADIES
• Attire is to be formal.
• With modesty in mind, the following dress
guidelines will be enforced at Camp Fire
Formal.
Dresses may not be cut below the bust line. The bust
continues around your sides directly under the armpits. With
arms down at your sides, if flesh touches flesh below the bust
line, the dress is inappropriate. Sweetheart necklines are
acceptable. Plunging necklines that show cleavage are not
appropriate.

• Dresses may be backless
as long as they are not
cut below the navel.

and the sides. With arms
down by your sides, if flesh
touches flesh in the midriff,
the dress is inappropriate.

Unacceptable Dresses

that exceeds mid-thigh.
This is fingertip length.
• Dress length must be at
fingertips.

Fabric Inserts
• Fabric inserts must be sewn, not pinned, on
the dress if, without the inserts, the dress
does not meet dress guidelines. Mesh may
NOT be used as an insert.
• No cover-ups (coats, shawls, sweaters) will be
allowed over dresses that do not meet dress
guidelines.
