2. Detective
A detective is a specialist law enforcement officer who
investigates the facts after a crime has been committed. These
professionals should be prepared to interview people,
investigate evidence and provide expert testimony
during trial as necessary.

3. Child Custody Worker
A child custody worker usually assesses whether parents are
able to care for their children. They might be required to
provide expert testimony in court.

4. Correctional Officer
A correctional officer with a forensic psychology background
can help inmates improve their quality of life, as well as deal
with large groups of people in challenging situations.

5. Probation Officer
After someone commits a crime and is released from jail or
prison, he or she may be ordered by the court to meet
regularly with a probation officer for monitoring and to receive
counseling. A probation officer must believe that everyone
deserves a second chance.

6. Psychological Assistant
A PhD or PsyD is required to become a licensed psychologist,
but these professionals often require help from psychological

testimony related to the case. This testimony is most usually
about an individual’s mental state and capabilities. An expert
witness should be prepared to answer questions posed by
both the prosecution and the defense.

10. Researcher
A researcher collects, analyzes and reports information that is
helpful to others in the forensic psychology field. Researchers
may conduct tests to designed to discover trends or validate
previous studies.
