Born in 1936, he had to experience the horrors of
communal violence and leave Lylapur(modern day
Faisalabad) because of this. On his way to Phagwara
in India, he had to board a train stacked with dead
bodies. When he was playing for the Khalsa Sporting

Kolkata. He later transferred to Mohun Bagan where
he was the first Sikh player to lead the club. He is best
