የአማራ መልሶ መቋቋምና ልማት ድርጅት (አመልድ) የተቀናጀ የምግብና ስነ-ምግብ ዋስትና ፕሮጀክት የአርሶ አደሮችን
የሰብልና የእንስሳት ምርታማነት ለማሳደግ በሚደረገው ርብርብ አነስተኛ የመስኖ አውታሮችን እየገነባ እንደሚገኝ
የፕሮጀክቱ ኃላፊ አቶ ደሳለኝ አለም አስታወቁ፡፡
እንደ ኃላፊው ገለጻ በ17 ሚሊዮን ብር ወጭ በምስራቅ እስቴ፣ ፋርጣና ፎገራ ወረዳዎች ግንባታቸው ከ90 በመቶ በላይ
የተጠናቀቁት ሶስቱ አዳዲስ የመስኖ አውታሮች 407 አርሶ አደሮችን ተጠቃሚ የሚያደርጉና ከ1 መቶ 44 ሄክታር በላይ
መሬት ማልማት የሚያስችሉ መሆኑን ተናግረዋል፡፡
የ3 ዓመታት ቆይታ ያለው ይህ ፕሮጀክት ከጀርመን መንግስት፣ ከጀርመን አግሮ አክሽንና ከክልሉ መንግስት ባገኘው 66
ሚሊዮን ብር የገንዘብ ድጋፍ በተመረጡ 20 ቀበሌዎች የተሻሻሉ የሰብልና የእንስሳት ዝርያዎችን ለአርሶ አደሮች በማቅረብ ፣
የብድርና ቁጠባ ቡድኖችን በማጠናከር እንዲሁም ስራ-አጥ ወጣቶችንና ሴቶችን በበሬ ማድለብ፣ በወተት ላም እርባታና
ሌሎች የገቢ ማስገኛ ተግባራት እንዲሰማሩ በማድረግ የምግብ ዋስትናቸውን ለማረጋገጥ በስፋት እየሰራ እንደሆነም
ተገልጿል፡፡
አመልድ ምስራቅ እስቴ ወረዳ ውስጥ የመተረይን ወንዝ ጠልፎ የመስኖ ግንባታውን 90 በመቶ
አጠናቅቋል፡፡

2. በአመልድ የውሃ ሃብት ልማት ፕሮግራም የመስኖ መሃንዲስ የሆኑት አቶ ጋሻው እንግዳው የመሬቱ አለታማ መሆንና
የመሰረተ-ልማት አለመሟላት የመስኖ ፕሮጀክቶችን ፈታኝ ቢያደርጋቸውም በ4 ወራት ጊዜ ውስጥ ሊገነባ መቻሉን
ገልጸዋል፡፡ ፕሮጀክቱ ለ5 መቶ በላይ ወጣቶች ጊዜያዊ የስራ ዕድል የፈጠረ መሆኑንም ተናግረዋል፡፡
አርሶ አደር ጸጋ ንጋቴ በምስራቅ እስቴ ወረዳ የሬቻ ቀበሌ ነዋሪ ናቸው፡፡ አርሶ አደሮች ካሁን ቀደም የባህላዊ መስኖ
ተጠቃሚ ቢሆኑም በስፋት ለማምረት ሲቸገሩ እንደነበር አውስተው አሁን ግን የግንባታውን መጠናቀቅ በተስፋ እየጠበቁ
እንደሆነ ተናግረዋል፡፡
በፋርጣ ወረዳ ቃናት ቀበሌ ነዋሪ የሆኑት ወ/ሮ አለሜ ደመዎዝ የ42 ዓመት ባተሌ አርሶ አደር ናቸው፡፡ አርሶ አደሯ የ2
ወንድና 2 ሴት በድምሩ የ4 ልጆች እናት ናቸው፡፡ በምግብና ስነ-ምግብ ዋስትና ፕሮጀክት ተጠቃሚ ከሆኑት አንዷ ናቸው፡፡
አርሶ አደሯ የሮፕና ዋሸር ፓምፕ፣ የዋሸራ በግ አውራ፣ የደጋ ፍራፍሬ (አፕል) የተሻሻለ የድንች ዝርያና ዶሮ ተጠቃሚ
ናቸው፡፡ የተመጣጠነ ምግብ በተለይ ለእናቶችና ለህጻናት አዘገጃጀትና አመጋገብ (ጎመን፣ቲማቲም፣ እንቁላል)፣ በስርዓተ-
ጾታና ቁጠባ ስልጠና ተሰጥቷቸዋል፡፡ ፕሮጀክቱ ከእርሳቸው አልፎ የአካባቢውን አርሶ አደር ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ ጀምሯል፡፡
በአካባቢያቸው የብድርና ቁጠባ ቡድን የተቋቋመ ሲሆን ከ2,620 ብር በላይ መቆጠብ ችለዋል፡፡

3. FNS – a multidimensional project for change!

Multidimensional Food and Nutrition Security project of ORDA is on the way to complete
construction of three small irrigation schemes that played a major role in boosting productivity of
agriculture and livestock, manager of the project, Ato Dessalegn Alem said.
According to the manager, the project has completed 90% of irrigation schemes with 17 million
birr in East Estie, Farta and Fogera woredas which can potentially irrigate over 144 hectares of
land and benefit 407 farmers.
The 3-year duration of the project with 66 million financial support is secured from German
government, German Agro action and the regional government to implement project activities in
20 kebeles. The project is working extensively to ensure food security and improve the
livelihood of farmers. The project has delivered improved crop varieties and livestock breeds to
farmers, started to strengthen saving and loan groups, created and engaged unemployed youths &
ultra poor women jobs like oxen fattening, dairy and other income generating activities.
Gashaw Engidaw, Water Resources Development Program, irrigation engineer claimed the rocky
landscape and poor infrastructure ultimately challenged development of irrigation projects in the
areas but it was achieved within 4 months through active community participation.

4. The project also created temporary jobs for more than 5 hundred youths. The schemes will be
opened within short time for utilization.
Farmer Tsega Nigatie is a resident of East Estie woreda Recha kebele. He witnessed a few
farmers used to harvest using River Meterey traditionally although they earned less production.
But now he is expecting the completion of the scheme with pleasure to start irrigating.
W/ro Alemie Demewoz, a 42 years old heroic woman, lives at Kanat kebele in Farta woreda. She
is mother of 2 sons & 2 daughters According to W/ro Alemie she is benefited rope and washer
pump, Washera sheep breed, apple, improved potato variety and chicken from FNS project.
Trainings on feeding nutritionally enriched food (vegetables, egg) mainly for children &
mothers, gender and saving has been given. Hence, many farmers in the localities are changing
their lives. A case in point, the villager’s VESA saved more than 2,620 birr.
