Floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) technology has the potential to revolutionize the LNG industry by reducing costs and bringing gas reserves to market that were previously inaccessible. However, FLNG also faces technical challenges and high upfront capital costs that must be overcome for it to become widely adopted. Additionally, projects will need to consider local content requirements and managing local community expectations. While FLNG could become a game changer, many technical and economic issues still need to be addressed for it to live up to its promise.
