Finny, a mother fish, had her four babies taken away from her by the pet store owner who thought it would be a good idea to separate them. Over the next 12 days, Finny became depressed and stopped eating without her children nearby. One day, Finny saw that her babies were in the fish bowl next to her. Knowing they would soon be sold, Finny tried to jump between the bowls to be with her children one last time before they left, but she didn't have enough momentum and died upon hitting the floor.

Fish Story:
“This can’t be happening,” thought Finny. “Why would he do this?”
Finny had been separated just minutes ago from her four small babies. The owner
of the pet store, Carl Woodster, thought it would be a great idea to separate the mother
from her fish children.
“How am I going to live without my children by my side? How is this possible?”
were the thoughts that went running through Finny’s mind.
8 long, weary days had passed. Finny’s healthy was quickly failing her. She had
no idea where her babies were and the thought of them not being around was literally
killing her. Each and everyday, Finny swam circles around the fish bowl continuously
looking to the outside to see if her children were going to be brought back to her.
12 days had passed and Finny was feeling more and more depressed and unhappy
without her children. Finny had stopped eating and instead of happily swimming around
the fish bowl, she was continuously staying towards the bottom and not moving. Her
breathing was slowing down and her sadness was taking her body over.
One day, Finny awoke from the sun shining through the pet store window.
Groggily arising, Finny glanced over to the empty fish bowl beside her. Low and behold,
her four children were banging on the fish bowl next her! Finny could not have been
more happy. She was able to finally see her children again! Finny knew that the four

2. small children would soon be sold to families and that they wouldn’t all be together for
much longer. She knew she had to do something to be with her children for just a little
while before she would no longer see them for good. The idea came into Finny’s head to
try and jump to the fish bowl where her children were.
“If I jump high enough, I may be able to successfully clear both fish bowls and be
with my children until they have to go,” thought Finny. “I can do it. I would rather die
trying than not be with them.”
Finny nervously looked around the pet store, making sure the workers were not
paying attention. She took a deep breath, clenched her body tight, and jumped. Soaring in
the air, Finny knew that didn’t have even momentum to make it. It was if her jumping
through the air was in slow motion. She smacked the floor at Carl Woodster’s pet store,
unable to breath.
“I tried my best to be with my children. At least I died while trying something
important to me. I love you, children,” Finny thought to herself as she breathed her last
breath.
