WHAT IS THE EUCHARIST?

"I am the living bread that came down from
heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the
life of the world.”
•Jesus then says, "...unless you
eat the flesh of the Son of Man
and drink His blood, you do not
have life within you."
The Eucharist unites us with
one another in
community, and it
strengthens us on our journey
to the kingdom.
the Eucharist is A SACRAMENT:
•A visible sign of God's invisible
grace
•A sign that God is with us on our
journey
TRANSUBSTANTIATION
•TRANSUBSTANTIATION
•The substance of the bread and wine changed
into the substance of the body and blood of Christ
•By His almighty power
•Continues to be made in the Church by Jesus
Christ through the ministry of His priests when
He said to the Apostles,
•Do this in commemoration of Me.
•Proof of Real Presence
•Consecration
