Final Presentation For Teachers in ActionDulce Barajas
This document summarizes a musical event held for students at a school serving children with disabilities. It describes the organizers, participants, activities, and reflections on the experience. The event was a concert put on by a professor and his students as a fundraiser. It involved about 80 students ages 0-4 who have conditions like cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. The organizers were initially nervous but saw the children happily enjoying the mini concert. This experience taught them that students with various conditions can learn together and be educated like others.
This short document discusses how it can be too late to go back after making decisions in life that involve trusting others and allowing them to become part of your life. While initially pleasing to deceive oneself, it is important not to be too late in realizing the consequences of those decisions and any need to change course.
This PowerPoint presentation accompanied my Senior Synthesis presentation during March 2010. The project was based around my creation of a discussion group in which I function as the facilitator. The project explored the importance of dialogue and how I believe we can facilitate empowerment through discourse.
The document appears to be notes from a discussion about conducting a needs assessment to help keep libraries relevant and utilized. It mentions keeping libraries from being closed or downsized, developing an app for a library, and thanks the recipient of the email for an unspecified topic while crediting sources of photos.
This document provides summaries of and excerpts from various books related to business, management, counseling, psychotherapy, criminology, education, geography, health, social care, media, communication, politics, international relations, psychology, research methods, and sociology. It describes the topics and key insights covered in each book.

The document discusses the power and reach of Facebook fan pages for businesses. Some key points:
- Facebook has over 300 million active users who spend a large amount of time on the site each day. It is a powerful tool for communicating with customers and prospects.
- Businesses can use Facebook fan pages to build large communities of fans, position themselves as experts, develop prospects and customers, and generate free traffic to their websites.
- Fan pages allow businesses to engage in viral and word-of-mouth marketing through Facebook's sharing and social features. Contests are also effective at attracting more fans.
Developing a Successful Strategy for the Chinese Company Entering the US Mark...James_C_Chapman
With the adoption of "Zou Chu Guo Men", the Chinese Government policy encouraging Chinese companies to enter foreign markets, many Chinese companies have ventured outside of China. This presentation guides Chinese companies on Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures, Direct Investments and M&A.
Managing serials in libraries presents unique challenges due to their periodic and ongoing nature. This document outlines Calvin College's implementation of the Evergreen integrated library system to manage serials metadata, physical items, and acquisitions processes. Key aspects of the model include using MARC Format for Holdings Data records to manage metadata, an issuance table to track physical items, and shelving units to group items by their call number. The system automates workflows like updating holdings records when new issues are received while allowing for manual exceptions.
Drugs in the Classroom data is from the 2010 study compiled by Monitoring the Future.
Monitoring the Future is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults. Each year, a total of approximately 50,000 8th, 10th and 12th grade students are surveyed (12th graders since 1975, and 8th and 10th graders since 1991). In addition, annual follow-up questionnaires are mailed to a sample of each graduating class for a number of years after their initial participation. The Monitoring the Future Study has been funded under a series of investigator-initiated competing research grants from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a part of the National Institutes of Health. MTF is conducted at the Survey Research Center in the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan.

This document summarizes the accomplishments and operations of an editorial imaging outsourcing program between 2010-2011. It reduced headcounts by 9 while outsourcing over 50% of work. Outsource vendor contracts were renegotiated to reduce costs. Work was distributed across locations in Manila and Chennai for coverage and to mitigate risk. Training programs helped vet and prepare outsourcing partners in India. The outsourced work included production art for catalogs, books, and magazines as well as data conversion of back issues, books, and other publications into digital formats like PDFs and ePubs. An overview of Cenveo India described its capabilities and qualifications.
