2. Matthew
• After trying to recruit actors from the various platforms
discussed- I face booked a student on our course if she
knew anyone who would be interested and she gave me the
details of another friend who studied Theatre at the
University of Leeds, called Barbara.
• Although initially we were looking for a male actor, our limited
options meant we had to change the protagonist to a female,
called Mae. However, I think this role was gender-neutral
therefore did not make much of a difference.
• I contacted Barbara via Facebook and received a very
positive reaction. We quickly scheduled available days

5. Mrs Harrison
• I had no received no responses after this role, in
spite of my many attempts.
• However, in a meeting with the director, she
meaning that her Mum was a keen actor and
fitted the brief very well.
• Therefore, we agreed that Hannah’s Mum would
be the best option for this role. We also knew we
could rely on her not to cancel last minute.
6. Child Actor
• Although we were initially looking for a young boy, we had not yet
received any feedback from the advertisements posted.
• However, I went into a local school, Leeds City Academy in
Woodhouse, and he receptionist’s cousin happened to be a very keen
young actor, called Lina.
• Lina was already a member of a drama club and had performed in
shows such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and participated in a marketing
campaign for a large company.
• I gave my contact details to the receptionist and received a call that
evening from Lina’s Mum, Mahalia. Mahalia understood the issues we
were having with DBS and agreed to accompany Lina to the shoot.
• I was then in regular contact with Mahalia and quickly arranged filming
dates.
