Thuraia White proposes an app called TravelNYC to make refilling metro cards and buying LIRR tickets more convenient for NYC commuters. Ethnographic research found commuters find the current process time-consuming. The app would allow users to scan metro cards to add funds or view schedules. It would also let users buy LIRR tickets on their phones. Specifications include home screen buttons for accounts, MTA, and LIRR functions like schedules, ticket purchasing, and metro card refills. A user scenario shows how Dani could refill her metro card from home using the app.
