Our music video idea has changed to feature two elderly women racing mobility scooters down the center of Cranleigh. As the song speeds up through cuts to the band's performance, the women will seem to speed up through quick editing, though their scooters only reach 8mph. Shots will cut between the women to build tension during the race. The video will end with one woman winning while the other admits defeat, with the conclusion shot in slow motion.
1. Final Music Video Idea Treatment
After our first music video idea turned out to be harder to film than we thought, we
changed the idea but still kept the same song and the same band image. Our name for the
song is “Anarchy”, although this is not our final name but we have named our band “Strio”
which translated means war in Icelandic. We thought that the two names go well together
to keep the theme of what the song is about and create a further sense of chaos.
Our actual idea for the music video is two old women, who will be both riding mobility
scooters racing down the centre of Cranleigh. There will be cuts to the DJ, to show the
performance element of the video. We changed it to a more comic theme that the music
video idea before because it will be easier to shoot, as we can use the local resources
rather than having to make up the scenes. As the song speeds up the women will also
appear to be speeding up, we will show this through quick editing as the scooters only go
a maximum of 8mph. We will do shots between both of the grannies to show the tension
between the race. There will also be some shots cut quickly to give the audience the idea
that they are racing at a higher speed, making the race more exciting.
The video will end with one of the old women winning, whilst the other stops and admits
defeat. During this section of the video it will all be shot in slow motion at 50fps whilst the
live performance elements will be shot at a regular speed of 25fps.
