Darconn is a star quarterback recruited to play at Reinke College who is facing a difficult decision. His mother recently fell ill and may not recover, but if Darconn leaves school to care for her, the college athletic director Brad will lose his job. Brad must decide whether to support Darconn leaving or to keep his job. While a college education can wait, Darconn's younger siblings cannot care for their mother and her condition may not improve. However, if Darconn stays he has a chance to play professionally and financially support his family. Brad should try to let Darconn stay so he can later provide for his mother's medical costs and his family's stability.

2. Darconn Youngblood is very skilled on the football field
and was scouted to play for Reinke College. He quickly
took on the quarterback role and started bringing in
immense profits for the college. Things were going well
until his mother fell ill over the summer and it wasn’t
looking like she would get any better. Darconn never knew
his father and was raised by his mother. Therefore, he has
a very close connection to her. He has younger siblings but
they are almost incapable of taking care of her. Losing
Darconn would mean losing money, and the president told
Brad (the athletic director who scouted Darconn) that if
Darconn were to leave; Brad would lose his job. Brad has
to decide if he should support Darconn to leave the school
and take care of his mother ten hours away, or lose his
job.
