4. I thought it would be interesting to look at the
many ways that Teenagers and young people
are represented in film. There is the typical
representation of American teenagers being
very cliquey; with the popular and unpopular
kids at school, going to parties etc. However,
there is another representation which is a lot
darker; showing teenagers as often having
disturbed pasts, suffering with many troubles
in their current lives, and even feeling suicidal.
To look deeper into this I would research into
the context a lot to see what may have been
happening in reality to possibly inspire these
films and what message they are trying to
portray.
