2. 1890’s – 1920’s
In the year 1986 the first horror film was created ( The Haunted
Castle ) it was created by silent clips that terrorized the audience.
Another film that was created was Phantom of the opera witch
thrilled the audience into the real experience of a horror film , even
though in modern day we would not find it scary back in the 1890’s
lots of people found it scary.
3. 1930’s – 1940’s
In the year 1935 the film ( The Bride Of Frankenstein ) was created.
This was one of the first gothic horror film to be created. It scared
its audiences as in those days people were scared of monsters in
films as they thought they were real.
4. 1950’s – 1960’s
In 1958 the film Dracula The film is set In May 1885 when a Jonathan Harker
arrives at the castle of Count Dracula near Klausenberg, posing as a librarian. He
is startled inside the castle by a young woman begging for help, claiming to be a
prisoner. Dracula then greets Harker and guides him to his room, where he
locks him in. Jonathan starts to write in his diary, and his true intentions are
revealed: he has come to kill Dracula.
5. 1970’s -1980’s
In 1978 the film Halloween became big to the screen and frightened most people
who watched it. Halloween was produced on a budget of $325,000 and grossed
$47 million at the box office in the United States,[1] and $60 million worldwide,[2]
equivalent to over $203 million as of 2010, becoming one of the most profitable
independent films.[1] Many critics credit the film as the first in a long line of
slasher films inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960)
6. 2000’s
In the 2000’s the film Final Destination made it big at the cinema but bad
reports from the critics . They called it dramatically flat . The film was aimed
for a teen loved up couples and was created to thrill people ad scare them.
The film was based on a spec script intended for The X-Files, written by
Reddick. X-Files writing partners Wong and Morgan were interested and
agreed to re-write and direct a feature film of it, marking Wong's film
directing debut.[2][3] Filming took place in Alabama and Vancouver. Final
Destination was released on March 17, 2000, and was a financial
success, making $10 million on its opening weekend.[1]
