The Film Finance Awards, has been organized to recognize structural, inspirational and
creative investment across a range of film finance categories.
On the night of 5 December, 2012, governments, the investment community,
organizations and individuals working on behalf of and within the film industry and
film finance communities will be recognized for their achievements in over twenty
categories of investment. Common to all nominees is a shared goal to promote and
finance the production of critical and commercially successful films.
Forum (during the day)
The Awards dinner will be preceded, during the day, by a series of three forums. Each
forum will focus on a significant area related to film finance.
Forum I
Distribution: focus on new delivery channels, to create new revenue streams.
Forum II
Finance: focus on trends, creative finance structures, methods of finance and
opportunities. This will include investment partnerships, product placement and other.
Forum III
Global market: focus on opportunities for co-production, distribution and finance in
the global market, paying attention to countries/regions such as China, India, Russia
and Eastern Europe, among others.

Nomination Categories
There are seven different categories listed below with the criteria.
You are welcome to submit the names of firms and other entities you believe should
be considered for the relevant award categories. There is no limit to the number of
firms/entities you may nominate and there are no costs involved in putting forward the
nominations. Nominations will open on line from 1 June when nomination forms will be
uploaded on to the website.
Distribution Company of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must have been operating in the sector of film distribution for a
minimum of two years with a minimum of three films distributed between 2011-2012.
The jury will take into account: the structure and financial elements of the deals, support
of production companies and producers, commercial and financial success.
Executive Producer of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must active in the market during 2010-2012.
The jury will take into account/recognize: role and execution of the executive
producers, critical and commercial success of films, source of funds, value of
investment, creativity of financial structure, social/cultural awareness.
Film Board of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must be a national, regional or local government agency/board
providing funds for film production and film post production between 2011-2012.
The jury will take into account: the degree/value in percentage terms of the finance,
financial structure of finance, procedures: speed, ease, flexibility of accessing the funds,
social and cultural benefits to the film industry, community and quality of recipients.

Film Festivals of the Year
Criteria: The film festival must be an annual event and established for a minimum of
three years 2010-2012.
The jury will take into account/recognize film festivals according to: structure of the
festival, organization, execution, prepared materials, marketing, quality of entrants,
quality of attendees, opportunities for film finance, distribution Festival categories A list
Festivals, Festivals for independent films Festivals that cover specific genres such as
horror Festivals for short films.
Finance company of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must be active in the market during 2010-2012.
The jury will take into account/recognize: value of investment, creativity of financial
structure, returns achieved. Venture Capital, Hedge Fund, Private Equity, Finance
Institutions and High Net Worth individuals will be considered for recognition in this
category.
Film Sales Company of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must have been operating in the sector of film sales for a
minimum of two years with a minimum of three films sold between 2011-2012.
The jury will take into account: structure and quality of deals, commercial success of the
films.
Tax Credit Regions of the Year
Criteria: The nominee must have a national, regional or local government department
providing tax credits to the film industry between 2011-2012.
The jury will take into account: the degree/value in percentage terms of tax credits,
procedures: speed, ease, flexibility of accessing the credits, social and cultural benefits
to the film industry and community between.
