This document provides a summary of events from 1980 to 1989 involving the author's 90th birthday celebrations. It describes the births of grandchildren Matthew in 1981 and Amanda in 1981. It mentions family trips to Wyoming and the graduation of grandchildren Steve in 1984 and Stacy in 1987. Steve's wedding in 1986 and the author's 50th wedding anniversary celebration in 1988 are noted. The birth of great-grandson Blair in 1988 and the author's move to Firth, Idaho in 1989 are also summarized. Pictures from the described events are included.
Felix celebrated his 90th birthday in 2001 with family at his ranch. Activities included feeding llamas, remodeling structures, trapping cats, using a Gator vehicle, observing baby llamas born, constructing dams to address erosion, and landscaping projects like moving sheds and digging ditches. The ranch provided entertainment for grandchildren through fishing, hiking, target practice and enjoying the surrounding wildlife.
Great Grandpa Hoff spent the winter of 2001-2002 in Tucson, Arizona staying with his daughter Phyllis and son-in-law Ray Sammons. During his visit, he had a month-long hospital stay for congestive heart failure but also enjoyed visits from other family members and doing activities around the house and yard with his grandchildren. In April 2002, he returned to Montana to spend the summer with his other daughter Melanie Fisher.
This document summarizes some key events in Felix's life in 2000. It describes how he celebrated the new year and millennium with family. Felix helped his grandson Wesley's family grow a winter garden in Tucson. Felix also prepared his garden in Wyoming, using heavy machinery to turn the soil. The garden produced a bountiful harvest. A fishing pier was added to Felix's ranch property. Sadly, Felix's last surviving sibling Gladys passed away in 2000 as well. Felix's great granddaughter Alysa was also born in 2000.
Nelson Mandela celebrated his 90th birthday today in Johannesburg, South Africa. Friends and family gathered to honor the former president and anti-apartheid leader's milestone birthday. Well-wishers from around the world also marked the occasion and praised Mandela's legacy of reconciliation and democracy in South Africa.
This document summarizes Felix Hoff's life events from 1990 to 1999 for his 90th birthday. It describes his family growing through births and weddings. It discusses trips he took to Hawaii, Alaska, and spending winters in Arizona. It also notes renovations to his property in Wyoming like adding a fence and moving trailer houses. World events from the decade are briefly outlined.
Peter Hoff was born in 1859 in Norway and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1885. He married Anna Sophia Sandgren in 1895 and they had four children together. In 1897, Peter and his brothers established the Hoff Brothers Mercantile Company in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 1911, Peter left the mercantile business to farm 160 acres outside of Firth, Idaho. Financial difficulties forced Peter to give up the farm in 1929. He then worked as an insurance agent to support his family until his death in 1931 at the age of 72 from pneumonia and heart disease.
The document summarizes Ray Sammons' experience on a 5-day covered wagon trip through the Absarokee Mountains in Wyoming in 2004. The trip consisted of training followed by four days of driving horses and covered wagons along mountain trails, camping each night. Highlights included driving sessions, scenic views from the trail, nightly campfire activities, and taking turns driving a four-horse hitch. The trip concluded after traveling downhill on the last day back to the starting point of Fort Shiloh.
This document summarizes events from 1920-1929 using photos and descriptions from the narrator's childhood on a family farm. [1] It describes farm life and chores, family members, the narrator's first car which was assembled from spare parts, and his brother purchasing the first Model A Ford in their town. [2] Key events included graduating from grade school, raising rabbits and crops on the farm, and technological advances like the first television and insulin treatment. [3]

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
