This document summarizes the findings of a Symantec survey of small and medium businesses regarding disaster preparedness. The key findings were that most SMBs are still not adequately prepared for disasters, despite warnings, and do not create plans until after experiencing an outage or data loss. The survey also found that SMBs are at risk of natural disasters and cyberattacks, experience frequent outages, and do not consistently back up important data. Not being prepared can negatively impact SMBs financially and cause them to lose customers. Symantec recommends that SMBs proactively create disaster preparedness plans to protect their information and operations.

The speaker is asking youth services to support the Troubled Families program, which aims to change the lives of 120,000 troubled families by 2015 through family intervention. The program will identify families with long histories of problems and actively work with them using assertive, authoritative approaches rather than just making services available. It will focus on changing behaviors and breaking intergenerational cycles rather than just reacting to problems. The speaker argues this intensive, challenging approach is needed to truly change families in a way that previous programs have failed to do. Youth services are well positioned to identify families and take an assertive role in supporting this new approach.

Needs Statement and Management Plan
As a leading Committee member in my community, our focus and agenda are to create awareness on why it important to vote in local elections.
Made out of residents in our local community, mothers, teachers, small business owners and neighbors we noticed a pattern where most community members don’t see the importance and urgency in participating in elections taking place in their local community. Regardless of who their candidate of choice is and what they represent, the voter turnout remains low.
In our efforts since creating our organization, we work on creating awareness of the topics that local community members care about, striving to show how their vote matters when it comes to creating change or establishing an idea they can relate to. Our efforts include phone-calls, flyers and posters, door-knocking, local community meetings, and social media ads and discussion forums.
We aim these efforts towards local business owners, families with children, and low wage employees in the community. These groups overall as many of us and others are consumed with their day to day activities and tasks to the point where they are not able to follow and be informed of new initiatives that are proposed, issues that may help or hurt them down the line, or issues that could help them achieve better quality of life. From data collected the low turnout is caused by not seeing any positive outcomes out of local elections, and not being in the loop and dedicate the time to know and understand what is happening. Our efforts create a topic for discussion for all so by the time it is time to vote they are part of the solutions and participate in it.
To fund such a project, we are in direct contact with local city officials and state officials where they can allocate funds towards helping us create such awareness through community meetings and ads, but the funds allocated are not enough to fund our cause fully. Residents also can donate to our efforts, with their time and money, and so accordingly and we appreciate all their contributions. Above all, we encourage our residents to contribute their time by discussing our agenda and local issues with their friends and neighbors and spread the word.
To achieve higher funding opportunities, we are turning to non-profits organizations across the country such as “non-profit vote”, “common America”, “Let America Vote” and more (Bustle.com, 2020). Such institutions assist local communities in reaching voting engagement in their community.
As mentioned above, the essence of the problem where the community has had low turnout in elections had been sourced mainly to a disconnect between local officials and the raising issues, to the day to day families and businesses that are the core of the community. While the issues on hand had the most impact on such individuals, they were least consulted or given a voice fo.

Steady state economy – jobs for a postgrowth economyDeirdre Kent
After fossil fuels we need to reinvent the currency and tax system if we want a thriving economy. The GDP growth imperative is over. This describes a method of solving income inequality and restoring the environment in an age of financial contagion. We redesign the national currency to untag labour and tax land and its resources. UBI can be gradually achieved, starting with a small Citizens Dividend from land rates.

Jason has lived in the local area for more than 40 years. As an active
member of the local community, Jason understands the concerns and
needs of local residents.
Jason is a Detective Senior Sergeant in the Victoria Police, and, along
with his wife Judy, owns a successful online business.
As the Member for La Trobe from 2004 to 2010, Jason was able to
secure major infrastructure and investment for the local community.
He ensured the residents of La Trobe had a strong voice in Canberra.
Jason will use his experience to get things done locally – to help
families deal with the rising cost of living, to provide job security
and to deliver better frontline services.
With an extensive background in law enforcement, Jason understands
Jason’s experience and
proven track record shows
that he knows how to get
things done.
the importance of strong local communities that provide a safe
and appealing environment for families and individuals to live
and work.
As your Liberal candidate Jason is part of the team that is
committed to restoring a strong national economy, building
stronger local communities and helping individuals and families
get ahead.
2. Real Solutions for La Trobe Real Solutions for La Trobe
Local residents and small businesses need
real action to get things back on track.
As an active member of the local community, it’s clear to me that families
and individuals are doing it tough. Cost of living pressures are having a real
impact on household budgets.
As the former Member for La Trobe I have a proven track record of delivering
results for our area.
The residents of La Trobe deserve someone who understands both local and
national issues and who will work with our local communities to improve
services and create jobs across our region.
La Trobe is a fantastic local community to live and work, but things
should be better. So much more could be done.
My top priorities are easing cost of living pressures, job security, better health and
education services, and community safety. I’m also passionate about protecting
the unique environment of the Dandenong Ranges. I’ll also work to ensure
infrastructure meets the needs of the residents in Cardinia, Casey and Knox.
Please let me know about the issues that are important to you and your family.

Practical plans

A stronger
local economy
and jobs growth
Returning job

local workers
We’ll immediately
legislate to scrap
the Carbon Tax1 2 543 6Quality, affordable healthcare is vitally important
for families and individuals.
I will support the winding back of Labor’s cuts to
the private health insurance rebate – which will
hurt both public and private health.
Government should encourage people to take
pressure off the public system, not punish them
with higher taxes.
I will support measures to better protect the
unique environment of the Dandenong Ranges.
We will implement practical plans to reduce
pollution, invest in environmental protection
measures and sustainable energy solutions.
We will help local communities clean up their
environment, reduce emissions and protect their
local heritage.
Local small businesses need certainty to grow
and create jobs. We will support small business
by getting government out of the way, reducing
regulation and removing barriers to employing staff.
Small business deserves a government that
is willing to work as hard as small business
operators do for their own business.
Many residents are concerned about job security,
which has only been made worse by the actions
and uncertainty of the Labor-Greens alliance.
The Liberals have a real plan to restore job
security and support local industry through
lower taxes and less restrictive regulations.
Many local families are finding it harder and
harder to make ends meet. Yet, Labor and the
Greens have introduced the world's largest
carbon tax that will drive up household bills and
mean higher costs for local businesses.
That’s why I’ll fight to abolish the carbon tax
to ease living costs, protect jobs and improve
our economy.
Jason Wood. Putting locals first. Jason Wood. Putting locals first.
• Stop Labor’s new taxes that will drive up
prices even further.
• End government waste and reckless
spending to reduce our national debt and
ease cost of living pressures.
• Practical help to reduce the cost of sending
children to school.
• Restore the private health insurance rebate,
as soon as we can, to keep the cost of
healthcare down.
• A Productivity Commission review to make
child care more accessible, flexible and
affordable.
