Announcements
 The Office of Career Services will host a
series of meetings, titled “Developing
Strategies for Career Success.” These
meetings will be held on Mondays from 4-5
p.m. in Wooded Way. No appointments
are necessary.

 Ms. Tyra Green, a professional writing tutor,
hosts “Walk-in Wednesdays.” During these
sessions, students can get help with brainstorm-
ing, editing, revising, grammar, and mechanics.
The sessions are held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in
the Academic Link on the Owings Mills Camps,
which is located in the Caves Sports and Well-
ness Center. No appointments are necessary.

FASHION DESIGN
Stevenson University’s Bachelor’s of Science Fash-
ion Design program, which is housed in the School of De-
sign, was inaugurated in 2011. A minor in fashion design is
also available. Fine and applied arts, business, and general
education classes complement a dynamic course of study
in technical fashion design.
Graduates of the program can expect to work in
the multifaceted global field of fashion and its related in-
dustries that encompass design, manufacturing, and mar-
keting. With a fashion design degree, professional oppor-
tunities are available in diverse areas such as technical
fashion design, computer aided pattern design, draping
and sample hand development, styling, merchandising,
product development, color forecasting, textiles, fashion
illustration, fashion forecasting, fashion photography, im-
age consulting, costume designing, and entrepreneurship.
The fashion business is constantly changing in or-
der to meet the needs of customer trends and current
technologies. This paves the way for the industry to cre-
ate new and dynamic professional career positions and
pathways.

FASHION MERCHANDISING
Prepare yourself to become a professional in the
fast paced fashion industry. You will learn about the busi-
ness side of the fashion industry, which includes market-
ing, visual merchandising, consumer behavior, and retail
buying. If you are interested, join the Fashion Apparel and
Design Club (F.A.D). Kelsey Cupit
