Dundee dementia library service presentation
The Dundee Dementia Library Service aims to (1) provide a specialized collection relevant to people with dementia, their caregivers, and anyone wanting to learn more about the condition; (2) train library staff to build a dementia-friendly community; and (3) offer a comfortable space to reduce social isolation through group interaction and reminiscence. Over 300 titles have been collected in a dedicated, accessible area with smaller satellite collections across the city. Trained staff partner with organizations to host reminiscence sessions, meetings, and events that raise awareness. The service has become an established part of Dundee's offerings and received publicity that has increased the library's profile, leading them to be finalists for a dementia award

Are you looking to engage with young volunteers to develop your library service? Interested in setting up a new young volunteer programme, or expanding an existing one? This workshop will showcase the Imaginators, the young volunteers at Bolton Library & Museum Service, and how the programme has evolved over time.
The workshop will cover the following areas: recruitment and retention of young volunteers; developing a year-round young volunteer programme; things to think about: safeguarding, training and pizza!; Accreditation, including Arts Award; and the impact of a strong young volunteer scheme – on the library service and on the young people involved. One of the Imaginators will also be on hand to talk about their experiences and answer any questions.

Wylie explains that while broadcasters have large audiences, archives are not always public-facing. He details RTÉ's efforts like their stills library and social media presence, and describes a regular event where they ask the public to help identify unknown photographs, which has successfully added information and engaged both audiences and staff.

BEN Namibia Velo City 2011 presentation
This document discusses BEN Namibia's e-Box program, which establishes community bicycle shops ("e-Boxes") across Namibia. The e-Boxes sell bicycles and spare parts to generate income for local development projects, employment, and resupplying the shops. Since 2005, BEN Namibia has grown the e-Box network from 1 shop to 26 shops. On average, e-Boxes sell over 10 bicycles per month and collectively earned a $164,000 profit in 2010. The e-Boxes have employed over 90 people and significantly increased the incomes of employees.
