Blaine County Commissioners and volunteers will distribute ice cream treats to students at various schools throughout Blaine County during the month of October to celebrate Youth Appreciation Month. Alan Ramirez began interning with the River Park Foundation in 2008 as a high school senior and has continued volunteering with them over the past 3 years. As an intern, he has helped with kayak cleanups of the river, river surveys, organizing the storage shed, and mentoring other student volunteers. Now in college studying environmental engineering, Alan still returns each summer to lead service projects along the river trail, removing graffiti and cleaning trash. Because of his various experiences over the years, Alan is able to provide meaningful guidance to new interns and volunteers through sharing stories and anecdotes gained from his involvement.

She is also the founder and director of Union Street Dance, the studio for Eva Dean Dance. Some of her recent choreographic works from 2015-2017 include "Labyrinth - Part II of LIQUID SILVER" and "PLUNGE". Eva Dean teaches dance classes and workshops around the world and has received several awards for her work, including Best of Fringe New York in 2012.

In the 1920s, he traveled to Italy where he met his wife and founded magazines to discuss political issues from a socialist perspective. He formed the first socialist party and labor union in Peru but his work was again suppressed by the government. He wrote over 3,000 articles in his career as a journalist and political activist before passing away in 1930.
