Additional facts or information and activities
1. The parents have refused to inform the local board of education of
Caroline County that the children will no longer be homeschooling.
2. Presently, the social service caseworker does not realize that the
children have not transitioned to the local elementary school building.
3. The social service caseworker must be informed of who will be caring
for the children during the day while the father-participant is at work.
4. The mother-participant’s family sets have no room for her to
temporarily reside with them. Contact a shelter in the state of
Maryland.
5. The father-participant arranged for the mother-participant to pick up
their family vehicle. At this time, if necessary, the mother does have a
vehicle to live in (a gray, 7-passenger minivan owned by both parent
participants).
6. Even if you decide to enroll the children at the local school, the
teachers, principal, and the Board will not receive notification of the
situation.
7. If you decide to enroll the children, an educational staff member will
secretly contact the mother-participant (local public-school educator)
immediately by phone.

first day of public schooling. Hint: They are familiar with the public-school
classroom setting.
2. If you enrolled the children, did you support your reasoning based on the

mother-participant is out of the home? Will she move into the family’s

7. If the children met the mistress during the absence of the mother, why

Strictly a Pretend Activity
The State will notify the entire involved county communities, and the assumed black-
family sets participants that it will now hold power of attorney on their behalf
(including its social service staff and agencies, affiliates, etc.). All families will be
required to enroll their children into a local, public-school setting and receive
services at their local social service agencies:
1. Prepare a rough draft of the letter to be mailed out to the expressed participants.
2. There are several organizational layers and network connections of any state’s
Department of Social Services. Place the following departments in ranking order
by their leadership ability of the Department:
A) Local public-school building staff
B) Local Department of Social Services
C) Local board of education
D) State Department of Human Resources
E) Local Child Care Administration
F) State Department of Education
G) State Department of Labor
H) Local Workforce Investment Agency (WIA)
I) State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Father-participant is a full-time truck driver.
Mother-participant career background is of a full-time educational staff member.
The completion of kids’ enrollment (local elementary school, day care) is due at the end of Week 8.
