The 10th Combat Aviation Brigade from Fort Drum, New York deployed to Europe in February 2017 with over 2,200 soldiers and 86 aircraft including Chinooks, Black Hawks, MEDEVAC Black Hawks, and Apaches. The brigade is based in Illesheim, Germany and has detachments in Latvia, Romania, and plans a future team in Poland. Their mission is to support Operation Atlantic Resolve and conduct training, medical transport, and aviation operations to improve European interoperability.

 10th CAB, 10th Mountain Division is home stationed at Fort Drum, New York
 Supported by 1st Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division from
Fort Bliss, Texas
 Deployed with about 2,200 Soldiers for a nine-month rotation from February –
November 2017
 Deployed with 86 aircraft:
o 12 CH-47 Chinooks
o 38 UH-60 Black Hawks
o 12 HH-60 Black Hawks (MEDEVAC)
o 24 AH-64 Apaches
 The brigade headquarters with a majority
of their helicopters and personnel will work
primarily out of Illesheim, Germany
o 5 UH-60s and about 50 Soldiers at
Lielvarde Air Base, Latvia
o 5 UH-60s and about 50 Soldiers at
Mihail Kogainiceanu Air Base,
Romania
o Plans for a team to be based in Poland in the future
 Supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve and other training and missions across
Europe
 Missions will include medical transport, exercise support and aviation operations
throughout Europe to improve interoperability and strengthen relationships
 The brigade will bring and return to home station with a majority of their
equipment
 Arrival in theater was accomplished using three sea ports (Bremerhaven,
Germany; Antwerp, Belgium; and Thessaloniki, Greece) and three air ports
(Riga, Latvia; Ramstein Air Base, Germany; and Nurnburg, Germany)
