The State Department approved a possible $200 million sale of 70 JASSM-ER missiles and related equipment and support to Poland. The sale will help improve Poland's defense capabilities and allow it to better contribute to NATO operations. It will also strengthen the security of a NATO ally without altering the basic military balance in the region. The prime contractor is Lockheed Martin and implementation will not require additional U.S. personnel in Poland or have any impact on U.S. defense readiness.
